Markets in towns such as Autun, Beaune, and Chagny are bustling centers where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant colors, aromas, and flavors of the region. These markets are perfect for sampling and purchasing local products that characterize Burgundian cuisine.

Dijon mustard
A notable culinary product from the region that you will find at the market is Dijon mustard, famous worldwide for its sharp, tangy flavor. A visit to a moutarderie (mustard factory) offers a chance to see how this iconic condiment is made. The mustard seeds are carefully selected and ground to create a perfect balance of spice and smoothness. Many of these factories offer tastings where you can try different types of mustard, including classic Dijon mustard, and learn more about its history and significance in the local cuisine.

Regional Cheeses

In addition to the local markets with fresh produce, there are numerous antique and curio markets and shops to visit. These are called brocantes, vide-greniers (attic sales) and marché aux puces (flea markets), and we would be happy to organize a visit during your stay at Chateau de Villette.
